Our Work

Learn About Our Programs and Services

For over a decade, PangeaSeed Foundation has been building a pioneering, global community of concerned creatives like no other to give our oceans a voice.

Through our programs, we provide an internationally-acclaimed platform that supports artists in their desire to give purpose to their art practice.

Our community of thousands of artists spans six continents and 70 countries.

Together, we are leveraging the universal language of art to communicate complex marine environmental issues in approachable, inspirational, and democratic ways.

PROJECTS WITH PURPOSE

At PangeaSeed Foundation, we strive to create engaging, inclusive, purposeful projects that call on diverse global creatives to unify and express their passion, perspectives, and concerns for our oceans and the planet.

As a species, we are connected by the ocean. We must work together to solve the pressing environmental issues affecting our blue planet. With collaboration and creativity at their core, our projects represent unique opportunities for artists to become actively involved in shaping a more sustainable and just Earth.

Protect What You Love NFTs (2021)

For Earth Week 2021, we collaborated with 28 renowned artists to curate a collection of original NFTs, translating our brand of ARTivism to this novel medium. We chose to release these artworks on the Proof of Stake blockchain, Tezos, dramatically reducing the environmental footprint of this campaign. Participating artists visualized through their unique creative lens how marine environmental issues, such as biodiversity loss, warming seas, coastal development, overfishing, plastic pollution, and ocean acidification, are impacting the ocean and what’s at stake.

Vote the Environment (2020)

In the lead-up to the 2020 US presidential election, PangeaSeed Foundation organized “Vote the Environment,” a global get-out-the-vote campaign that called on artists and creatives worldwide to create artworks that inspire voters to cast their ballots with the welfare of the planet and people in mind. The campaign’s goal was to crowdsource an artwork catalog that is open source where people from across the globe can download and print these compelling designs to spread the message in their communities and online.

Home (2020)

The HOME: A Stay-at-Home Mural Festival for our Planet was a global, open call for artists to paint murals in the safety of their homes while sheltering in place due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we transformed drab white walls at home into visionary canvases for a brighter future. In response to COVID-19, and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22), HOME became the world’s first stay-at-home environmental mural festival.

Creative Coloring Companion (2020)

In 2020, as a direct result of the impact of COVID-19, PangeaSeed Foundation launched “A Creative Coloring Companion to Help Save our Seas”. This eight-volume booklet, free to the public, featured five original coloring pages in each volume accompanied by information on marine environmental issues, action steps, and an artist statement. Designed specifically for students learning at home, the coloring companion was a refreshing environmental educational resource for teachers and parents in search of inspiring remote-learning teaching materials.

In Peril (2019)

In partnership with international outdoor brand Patagonia, “In Peril” was a purpose-driven art exhibition organized by PangeaSeed Foundation featuring over 35 renowned international and local artists embellishing Patagonia Worn Wear products as canvases. With these products, a selection of the organization’s supporting artists created custom, one-of-a-kind artworks highlighting pressing ocean environmental issues such as climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss and warming seas. Artworks were available for purchase, with proceeds directly supporting the foundation’s Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans program.
