Mahé Ocean Murals

2026

In March 2026, PangeaSeed brought together local and international artists, marine scientists, and community partners for Mahé Ocean Murals, a public art and ocean conservation initiative in Victoria, Seychelles, presented by the Save Our Seas Foundation. Through a series of large-scale murals across the city and at Seychelles International Airport, the project translated marine science into accessible visual stories, highlighting the beauty, biodiversity, and environmental challenges facing Seychelles’ marine ecosystems.

Beyond the murals, the initiative created opportunities for creative exchange, education, and community engagement through artist collaborations, a hands-on mural workshop for emerging Seychellois artists, and public programming connecting art, science, and conservation. Rooted in Seychelles’ rich marine heritage and leadership in ocean protection, Mahé Ocean Murals transformed everyday public spaces into lasting reminders of our shared connection to the ocean and our collective responsibility to protect it.
