Artist

Bunnie Reiss was raised under the expansive blue skies of Colorado, often likening her childhood to the dreamy tones of The Orb’s ‘Little Fluffy Clouds.’ Coming from a large Polish/Russian family, her world was shaped by communal gatherings filled with food, loud conversations, and a strong sense of community. A tiny rebel with a boundless imagination, Bunnie knew from a young age that she was destined to create on a grand scale. After studying literature and working for NPR and various publications in rural Colorado, she quietly nurtured her passion for painting, drawing inspiration from magic, mysticism, nature, and the stars. Her thirst for knowledge and adventure led her to San Francisco, where she earned an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and immersed herself in the vibrant Bay Area art scene for over 20 years.

After stints in France and various parts of the US, Bunnie relocated to Los Angeles, where her career as a professional artist flourished. Eventually, yearning for a quieter life, she purchased her dream home in the Mojave Desert and began developing Lilac Lane Farms, a 5-acre art farm featuring her painting studio, animals, and a vegetable/flower garden. This space has allowed her to balance life and art in ways she never imagined possible. Bunnie’s work has been exhibited extensively across the United States and internationally in galleries, alternative spaces, and unexpected locations such as abandoned buildings and forests. Her brightly colored folk murals adorn cities like Los Angeles, Mexico City, Paris, and San Francisco, bringing a touch of magic to each place they inhabit.
