What We Do
Harnessing Creativity for the Ocean
Our strategic goals are to work with diverse ocean advocates, facilitate collaboration between artists and scientists, and produce impactful work.
We achieve these goals through three central programs:
Impact Program
We connect scientists with our community of artists to broaden the impact of ocean research and conservation initiatives through creative communications.
Commissioned Program
We deliver impactful, purpose-driven, creative services that champion ocean conservation through unique, customized experiences and products.
Printed Oceans
We collaborate with a diverse international community of renowned contemporary artists to create fine artwork print editions addressing priority ocean issues.
How We Fund Our Work
Unlocking funding for work at the intersection of art and science can be challenging, so we’ve developed a unique funding model that supports our operations, ongoing programming, and projects.
The fees generated from the Commissioned Program and Printed Oceans play a crucial role in supporting our general operations and the Impact Program. The Impact Program is also funded by grants and donations, in addition to fees generated by the Commissioned Program.
We actively pursue grants for the Impact Program and have the internal capacity to assist in grant writing for collaborative opportunities. If you would like to include us in your grant or have an opportunity you think would be a great fit, please reach out!
