Global Call for Art
In celebration of Earth Month and leading up to World Oceans Day (June 8), we’re inviting artists worldwide to explore and express Wonder:
the emotional and scientific beauty of the ocean, through art.
This open call is the first in a series of creative campaigns under New Wave Collective, our new initiative to build community and spark ocean-inspired creativity throughout the year.
In alignment with the 2025 UN World Oceans Day theme of “Wonder”, this campaign highlights the ocean’s ability to ignite curiosity, connection, and care. This year’s global momentum will also culminate at the UN Ocean Conference, held in Nice, France in June 2025 – a high-level gathering of leaders, scientists, NGOs, and advocates working together to accelerate ocean action and progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water). As an official member of the Friends of UN World Oceans Day, PangeaSeed is proud to support this movement by increasing ocean literacy and empathy through the arts.
To help amplify these messages, the top 10 selected artworks will be featured in a digital gallery, where they will be made available as free downloadable resources for educators, advocates, and community members to use in ocean conservation outreach around the world.
If you believe in the power of art to spark change, now is the time to use your voice. As escalating global challenges grow, your creativity can be a catalyst for action in your community, for our oceans, and for the future of our planet.
This is your moment to rise and make a difference. Let’s share the wonder.
