Lindsey Millikan is a fine art painter and muralist born and raised in Houston, Texas. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas State University, she moved to San Francisco to complete a Master of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Arts University. With over fourteen years of experience in creating public art projects, murals, and installations, Lindsey maintains an active studio practice and regularly exhibits in both traditional galleries and unconventional venues. Recently, she has established a live/work studio in Austin, Texas, with her partner, allowing her to be closer to family while continuing her artistic endeavors.
Throughout her career, Lindsey has been commissioned by prominent companies such as Atlassian, Twitch, Salesforce, CNN, and Airbnb, and has collaborated with Hungry Ghost Productions and Building 180 on numerous large-scale mural installations. She has also created significant public works for the cities of Austin and Oakland and is currently designing a mural for the City of Garland. Lindsey has assisted notable artists like Prairie Prince and Daniel Galvez with public works across various states. Her dedication to public art includes contributions to community organizations such as the Chabot Space & Science Center, PangeaSeed, and 826 Valencia. Her work, characterized by traditional painting techniques with a new surrealist influence, explores themes of uncertainty and growth, creating emotionally resonant pieces that invite viewers to navigate the enigmatic and the unknown.
