Lena Tokens

Artist

Lena Tokens is based in the Dominican Republic, although she lived in Ukraine for part of her childhood. She is an international artist having worked with HuffPost, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix Lat, WIRED, Fortune Magazine, Fast Company, Playboy, Johnnie Walker, Lando Norris and more.

Her illustrations have been shown in collective exhibitions in London, Vienna, Dubai, Cheltenham, Barcelona, and Hamburg, and she had a solo show at Brazil’s AquaRio, which houses the largest aquarium in Latin America. Lena was also a judge for the ZCOOL Awards in Beijing,China in 2020.

Lena’s style often involves a combination of shapes, concepts and nature. She infuses humorous detail to entertain viewers as well as herself, and she loves to add some aspect of weirdness to complement the humor in a piece. Lena is inspired by dreams, situations she sees and the night, which perhaps partly explains her frequent mixture of the simple with the surreal in her art.
